Do you have a book or other longform project in progress? Are you looking for encouragement, guaranteed writing or editing time, and the camaraderie of a small group of other writers? Join Ignite’s signature 5-week, all-genre workshop, where you’ll find: · Weekly, live Zoom meetings (NOT recorded) · The support of a small group of other working writers (Maximum of 8 writers) · Live coaching, discussion, and analysis of shared work · The accountability of group co-working/writing time, to use for generative writing or revision · Visual and quote prompts, especially curated to spark your creativity We get it, life happens. While we'd like you to come to all meetings, it's especially important for the group to start and finish together. Please do not register if you have a schedule conflict for January 05 or February 02. How It Works Meeting 1: Get to know each other’s work Writers share their projects, reading up to 500-words from any part, and sharing any other details they'd like the group to know. **No later than Friday, January 16** · All writers submit up to 1500-words, via email, to be shared amongst the group. · Everyone’s words will be collated into a single document, which is emailed to all participants. · Everyone reads all submissions by the final meeting (February 02), making whatever notes necessary to discuss the work. · No written feedback is exchanged between participants. Meetings 2 & 3: Do the work Each meeting consists of structured sharing and writing time, where you are invited to use (or ignore) the offered prompts. There will be opportunities to read, comment on each other’s work, and discuss writing process in each meeting. Final Meeting: Let’s Discuss The group discusses each 1500-word excerpt. Comments focus on what stuck with us about the writing, what we think is working in each piece, answering any questions the writer posed for us to consider while we read, and asking questions. Within three weeks of the group's conclusion, you'll receive your own document back, along with comments, questions, and a copy of the meeting transcript relevant to your work. You'll also receive a discount code good toward a one-on-one coaching session to discuss your work in greater depth. Please Note: THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL CRITIQUE GROUP. There is ZERO expectation that submissions will be final draft writing. We are NOT critiquing or line-editing.
