Do you have a book in progress?    Are you looking for encouragement, guaranteed writing or editing time, and the camaraderie of a small group of other writers?   Join Ignite’s signature 5-week, all-genre workshop, where you’ll find: ​ ·      Weekly, live Zoom meetings (NOT recorded) ·      Maximum of 8 writers ·      You will receive the link once you register.  ·      While we would like you to come to all meetings, it is especially important for the group to start and finish together.  Please do not register if you have a schedule conflict for April 07 or May 05.   How It Works: Meeting 1 Get to know each other’s work Writers share their projects, reading up to 500-words from any part of their books, and sharing any other details about their projects.   **No later than Friday, April 18** ·      All writers submit up to 1500-words, via email, to be shared amongst the group. ·      Everyone’s words will be collated into a single document, which is emailed to all participants.  ·      Everyone reads all submissions by Meeting 5 (May 05), making whatever notes necessary to discuss the work.  ·      There is no written feedback exchanged between participants.   Meetings 2 & 3 Do the work Writing time in group, using (or ignoring) the offered prompts. There will be opportunity to read, comment on each other’s work, and discuss writing process in each meeting.   Meeting 4 Let’s Discuss The group discusses each 1500-word excerpt. Comments focus on what stuck with us about the writing, what we think is working in each piece, answering any questions the writer posed for us to consider while we read, and asking questions.  ​ Within two weeks after the conclusion of the group, you will receive your own document back, along with comments, questions, and notes from the final group meeting. You will also receive a discount code good toward a one-on-one coaching session to discuss your work. ​ Please Note: THIS IS NOT A CRITIQUE GROUP. There is ZERO expectation that submissions will be final draft writing.  We will NOT be critiquing or line-editing. There is no contest. Grades will not be assigned!   The goal is to offer encouragement about what’s working, ask clarifying questions, and give each writer food for thought about future directions their books might explore.
